ALTER TAPEFILE Command (Super Group or
SECURITY-MEDIA-ADMIN Only)
GEN { absolute | ALL }
specifies which generation of the tape file entry to alter:
absolute
changes one generation only. absolute is a number in the range 1 through
32767.
ALL
changes all generations of the tape file entry.
EXPIRATION date
is the new date when the entry expires. This value replaces the current expiration
date in the tape file entry. Use the VOLUMESET option with EXPIRATION when
you want to apply the same expiration date to all unexpired entries of the files on a
tape set. For more information, see Considerations on page 2-60.
Specify date in one of these formats:
month day year
day month year
month
is the month of the year, entered as jan, feb, mar, apr, may, jun, jul, aug, sep,
oct, nov, or dec.
day
is the day of the month, entered as a number in the range 1 through 31.
year
is the century and year, entered as a 4-digit number; for example, 1991 or
2046.
You cannot use the RETENTION option with EXPIRATION.
FILECAT \node.file-catalog-name
is the logical name of the file catalog that owns the entry to alter. Include \node
when the file catalog is not on your current default node. The default is the name
set by the FILECAT command.
This parameter is required if no value is available from the MEDIADEFS defaults or
previously set as a MEDIACOM session default (see the ENV Command on
page 2-89).
