Removing Labeled Tapes From a Tape Library
2. Enter the tape cartridge into the tape library.
3. On the NonStop Kernel side:
To add a prelabeled tape volume to the DSM/TC environment, use the 
MEDIACOM command ADD TAPEVOLUME. If the tape volume contains 
information that needs to be cataloged, use the MEDIACOM command ADD 
TAPEFILE to add the tape file information to DSM/TC.
To add a prelabeled tape volume to a TMF catalog, use the TMFCOM 
command ADD TAPEMEDIA with the LABEL OFF option either before or after 
physically placing the tape in the tape library.
If this prelabeled tape is not meant to be part of the TMF catalog or DSM/TC, 
no other work is necessary.
Removing Labeled Tapes From a Tape Library
To remove tape cartridges:
To remove a tape cartridge from a tape library, refer to the documentation for the 
SMM GUI or ACSLS. If the tape volume does not need to be removed from the 
TMF library or DSM/TC, no further action is necessary.
To remove the tape volume from the TMF catalog, use the TMFCOM DELETE 
TAPEMEDIA command or SMM GUI before or after the tape is removed from the 
tape library.
To remove the tape volume from DSM/TC, use the MEDIACOM DELETE 
TAPEVOLUME command or SMM GUI before or after the tape cartridge is 
removed from the tape library.
