B
EM3270 Emulation With a Kanji Host
This appendix describes how data streams are translated when an IBM 3270, Fujitsu
66xx, or Japanese PCT is in session with an IBM or Fujitsu Kanji host application.
Table B-1 lists IBM terminals and printers supported by the Tandem EM3270
emulator.
Tables B-2 through B-16 contain detailed listings of data-stream translations
performed by the EM3270 emulator.
Kanji Code Translations
Kanji code translation among Tandem, IBM, and Fujitsu Kanji sets is performed within
Kanji code as defined by JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) X0208 (1983).
The EM3270 emulator translates supported extended Kanji code into undefined Kanji
code. User-definable Kanji code is partially supported. About 500 Kanji characters in
each user-definable code can be translated.
Supported Terminals and Printers
Table B-1 contains a list of terminals and printers currently supported by the EM3270
emulator.
