Emulator Features
The EM3270 emulator functions on all Tandem NonStop systems and has a number of
features that makes it both flexible and easy to use:
Command interpreter interface. EMCOM is the command interpreter for the
EM3270 emulator. For the system operator or the EM3270 emulator user, EMCOM
provides a set of more than 25 commands that configure, start, and stop the EM3270
emulator processes. You can enter EMCOM commands interactively at a terminal,
within an IN file, or within an OBEY file.
Bisynchronous and SNA support. You can use the EM3270 emulator with either a
byte synchronous (bisynchronous) or System Network Architecture (SNA) interface

NonStop systems. The EM3270 emulator can use both Tandem’s SNAX/XF
