Figure 1-2 shows a typical system that includes the EM3270 emulator. The emulator
interfaces with IBM systems using a TR3271 process for bisynchronous host
connections. The SNALU interface of SNAX/XF or SNAX/CDF is used for SNA host
connections.
The Tandem terminals interface with the EM3270 emulator through any Tandem access
method that supports Tandem terminals. IBM and Fujitsu terminals interface with the
EM3270 emulator through SNAX/XF using the SNA3270 CRT interface. The Tandem
spooler provides direct support for printers; the 6600 Intelligent Cluster Controller
provides indirect support. The EMCOM command interpreter provides a direct interface
with the EM3270 emulator. You can use EMCOM interactively or with a command file.
