Keyboard Mapping
This section describes the keyboard translations for Tandem, IBM, and Fujitsu terminals
that occur during an emulator session. It also describes the control keys that you can use
during Tandem applications and host accesses. It is addressed to the terminal user.
Tandem Terminal Keyboard Translations
With the EM3270 emulator running, several of the function keys on the terminal
keyboard take on new meaning, depending on whether the terminal is communicating
with the IBM host or the Tandem application.
When the terminal is communicating with the IBM host, the full set of function key
translations occurs, as shown in Figure 2-1 and in Tables 2-1 and 2-2. Consequently, the
Tandem terminal keyboard emulates the IBM 3270-series keyboards.
However, when the Tandem terminal is communicating with a Tandem application, only
four function keys are affected: ROLL UP, NEXT PAGE, shifted PREV PAGE, and
shifted NEXT PAGE. All other function key codes are passed through unmodified.
