Installation
In addition to the IBM key functions, the Tandem terminal generates other control
codes, including:
•
ALIAS and ALIASMODE: Enables you to customize the host switch screen
procedure. Refer to Section 4, “EM3270 Emulator Command Set,” for more
information.
•
HOST: Initiates a switch to a different application program in the IBM or Fujitsu
host. The current host access is terminated, and the defined access subdevice names
are displayed, as shown in Figure 2-2. To select a host application, press the
associated function key. Press the SHIFT and ROLL UP keys to generate the HOST
function on a Tandem 6530.
•
RCOVR: Initiates screen recovery. The result is identical to the screen recovery
performed automatically when a power failure occurs. Press the SHIFT and PREV
PAGE keys to generate the RCOVR function. A 191 error is returned to the Tandem
application and a signal is sent to the host application to trigger a screen refresh
operation.
•
SPACE: Inserts trailing spaces at the ends of unprotected fields. Pressing this key
stores a character from the graphics character set, which is translated into a space for
inbound transmission to the host.
•
STOP: Terminates the EM3270 emulator processing for this terminal. Pressing this
key is equivalent to issuing a STOP DEVICE command for the terminal. The session
does not end until the Tandem application, if any, closes the EM3270 emulator
process. Press the SHIFT and NEXT PAGE keys to generate the STOP function.
•
SWITCH: Switches from one system to the other in a dual-application session.
Press the NEXT PAGE key to generate the SWITCH function.
IBM Emulator Template and Keycap Label Installation
Keycap labels and an IBM emulation-mode template are supplied with the emulator
package. Apply the keycap labels from the keycap label sheet to the indicated keys.
When accessing the IBM application, insert the EM3270 emulator template along the
top edge of the Tandem terminal keyboard.
