ENDFF = OFF
HIDDEN = OFF
SECUREDATA = OFF
MDTTIMER = 10
BRACKET = OFF
LOGOFFSTOP = OFF
TRACFILE = \NODE.$VOLUME.SUBVOL.EMTRAC
You can type in a SET command to change any of these parameters. A subsequent
SHOW command displays the parameters again for verification.
Initiating an Emulator Session
You can initiate an emulator session with a RUN command:
}RUN \AUSTIN.$SN.#HOST1
The RUN command parameter, a subdevice name, is the name of the subdevice through
which access is gained to the IBM application. No terminal address is required.
The emulator displays “3270 EMULATION MODE” on line 25 of the screen. When an
error occurs during an attempt to access the host, the appropriate error or warning
message is displayed on the line 25 following the mode message. This message does
not appear on the IBM or Fujitsu terminals.
Terminating an Emulator Session
Use the STOP key to terminate a session. When the close brace ( } ) prompt is
displayed, type:
}STOP PROCESS
}EXIT
The STOP key terminates the session for device ($ATP.#T1) and returns control to
EMCOM, which then issues its prompt. The STOP PROCESS command terminates the
emulator, and the EXIT command terminates EMCOM. The terminal again functions as
a Tandem, IBM, or Fujitsu terminal.
Example Dual-Application Session
Next is an example of a session configured at a central operator terminal to run Pathway
and IBM or Fujitsu applications on a second terminal. This is called a dual-application
session, where the terminal can access either of two applications. You can configure
additional terminals using the device configuration commands for those terminals.
Figure 3-2 shows the system configuration for the session.
