EM3270 Emulator Command Set
ASSUME DEVICE command and configure and start the devices. By organizing your
commands in this way, you always have the correct default keyword in effect with a
minimum of ASSUME commands.
Comments
You can include a comment with any EMCOM command by preceding the comment
with a double hyphen symbol (--). This feature is useful for comments in a command
file. You can use a double hyphen in the text portion of a command by enclosing it in
quotation marks, and EMCOM will ignore it. When a comment contains quotation
marks followed by a double hyphen, the double hyphen closes the comment.
Task Numbers
You can use a file name to define a subdevice in any command that requires device
identification. Alternatively, for many of these commands, you can specify the task
number as a device identifier. Use the STATUS DEVICE * command to obtain a device
task number. The commands that accept a task number to identify a device are:
ALTER START STOP INFO STATUS
