EM3270 Emulator Command Set
Tandem EM3270 Manual110332 4-21
SET Command
assumed and EM3270 converts the data stream from 3270 to 6530. If LINK is set to
OPTIONAL or IBM3270, the host session is not established until the user first
switches to the host screen using the SWITCH key.
If LINK is not specified or set to OFF, a single-host application is set up. Similarly,
if LINK is specified, the SET HOST file-name command can be omitted, indicating
a single-application session with a Tandem application. LINK defaults to OFF and
has meaning only when DEVTYPE is set to CRT.

LOGOFFSTOP { ON | OFF }
specifies that an EM3270 CRT session should be terminated upon termination of an
active IBM SNA host session. If LOGOFFSTOP is set to ON, the EM3270 session
will be terminated upon receipt of an UNBIND RU from the host. This facility is
intended for use by subsystems that launch a subsidiary EM3270 task to access an
IBM application and wish to regain control when the user logs off of the application.
This parameter does not apply to bisynchronous host sessions since there is no
UNBIND RU to indicate session end. LOGOFFSTOP defaults to OFF.

MDTTIMER time
specifies the number of seconds after receipt of a host RU (request or response unit)
carrying EBI (end bracket indicator), during which a host RU carrying BBI (begin
bracket indicator) will be accepted without checking for any modified fields on the
terminal. MDTTIMER is only meaningful if RESETMDTS is set to OFF.
MDTTIMER defaults to 10 seconds and can assume values from 0 through 32767.
Messages: 1001 and 1004.
PAGES number
specifies the number of page buffers that the EM3270 emulator requests during
terminal initialization. number can be a value from 2 through 16, and defaults to
8. Since the Tandem application always has one less page than number, it has 7
pages for its use when the default value applies. The PAGES value applies to CRT
devices and to Tandem terminals only.

PRTMODE { NORMAL | IBM3287 }
specifies the printer mode to be emulated. If the PRTMODE parameter is specified
as NORMAL, IBM328x printer data streams (other than IBM3287) are supported.
If the parameter is set to IBM3287, IBM 3287 printer data streams are supported.
The default is NORMAL.
