EM3270 Manual
SET Command
4-26 110332—Tandem EM3270 Manual
EM3270 Emulator Command Set
by the EM3270 emulator process being created. To invoke this option, issue a SET
PROCESS LOGOPENS ON command before issuing a START PROCESS
command. You can enable or disable this feature in a running process by using the
ALTER PROCESS command. The default is OFF.

MODEMERR { ON | OFF }
indicates what happens when a modem error occurs. When set to ON,
MODEMERR stops the EM3270 emulator session if a modem error (NonStop
Kernel error 140) occurs on the terminal link. This option is helpful when using
dialup or X.25 access to the Tandem system. Only sessions initiated using the
EMCOM RUN command are affected by this option. The MODEMERR
specification applies to all terminals controlled by the EM3270 emulator process
being created. To invoke this option, issue a SET PROCESS MODEMERR ON
command before issuing a START PROCESS command. You can enable or disable
this feature in a running process by using the ALTER PROCESS command.
MODEMERR defaults to OFF.

NOTIFY { ON | OFF }
specifies whether NOTIFY RUs (request or response units) are sent out. For CRT
sessions that do not use the SNALOGON option, when NOTIFY is set to ON, a
NOTIFY RU is sent at startup to the SSCP (system services control point) indicating
that the CRT is powered off. A NOTIFY RU signaling power on is then sent and
causes VTAM to send the USS 10 messages immediately. The default value is
NOTIFY OFF.

NUMLOCK { ON | OFF }
specifies whether the numeric lock feature is enabled for all terminals attached to the
EM3270 emulator process. If NUMLOCK is ON, the terminal is loaded with a new
data type table during initialization. Data type 2 is redefined to permit digits 0
through 9, decimal point (.), and minus sign (-) to be keyed into a field with its
numeric field attribute bit set. The Tandem terminal user cannot override the lock
feature as is possible with an IBM 3270 terminal. The NUMLOCK default value is
OFF. The NUMLOCK specification applies to all Tandem terminals controlled by
the EM3270 emulator process being created.

PRI priority
specifies the priority at which the EM3270 emulator process is to run. If omitted,
the priority is one less than that of EMCOM. The value of priority must be an
integer in the range from 1 to 199. It is recommended that you set the priority value
higher than that of the TCPs that access the EM3270 emulator if you are running
dual-application sessions.
