Shutting Down a Data Link
The parameter value specifies the state that the local station goes into upon the
receipt of a UA or DM response from the remote station or upon timeout.
The disconnect state is indicated by the parameter, as follows:
0 = disconnected
1 = offline
If the local station is online when a CONTROL 18 call is issued, the local station sends a
DISC command to the remote station, then goes to the specified inactive state upon
receipt of a UA or DM response. For example, in Figure 2-5
, the local station issues
CONTROL 18,1. Thus, upon receiving either a UA or DM from the remote station, the
local station switches itself to an offline state.
If the remote station sends no response, the local station goes into the specified inactive
state upon timeout (based upon the time specified by the T1TIMER). If your application
issues CONTROL 18 more than once, EnvoyACP/XF sends a DISC command a
corresponding number of times until the station moves to the disconnected state.
Figure 2-5. Shutting Down the Link in ABM
Note. A DISC command received from the remote station places the local station in the
disconnect mode but does not determine the type of inactive state. The local application
specifies the type of inactive state.
