ANSI ADCCP Basic for Extended Address Format
When two Tandem computer systems communicate by using the extended addressing
capability of EnvoyACP/XF ADCCP, the bit combinations of the address field octets are
not restricted. However, when you communicate with equipment that isn’t Tandem
equipment, but which strictly adheres to the ANSI ADCCP standard, the address octets
must conform to the extended-address format defined in paragraph 4.3.2 of the ANSI
X3.66-1979 document. According to the ANSI document, the least-significant bit of
each address octet must specify whether there are any more octets in the overall address
(0=yes, 1=no).
Sending Mode-Setting Commands
In a multipoint supervisor station, the CONTROL 13, 14, or 18 calls use the auto-poll
function of EnvoyACP/XF to send the SNRM, SIM, or DISC commands.
These three NRM mode-setting commands share some common options with regard to
multipoint configurations. Within a multipoint supervisor station, you can define the
scope of the command to transmit to one of the following:
•
All the tributaries in the defined station list
•
A subset of tributaries in the defined station list
