1-1
1 Configuration Quick Start
This section provides a concise example of creating and starting an EnvoyACP/XF
line. For an introduction to EnvoyACP/XF, see Section 2, Introduction to
EnvoyACP/XF. For information about the SCF command syntax, see Section 5,
Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) Commands for EnvoyACP/XF.
You can use the WAN Wizard Pro configuration tool to help you to configure
EnvoyACP/XF and the ServerNet wide area network (SWAN) concentrator. See the
WAN Wizard Pro on page xv for more information.
Configuring EnvoyACP/XF communications lines involves one or both of the following
tasks, described in this section:
•
Configuring New Communications Lines on page 1-1
•
Reconfiguring Existing Communications Lines on page 1-6
Configuring New Communications Lines
To create an EnvoyACP/XF line, do tasks 1 through 4 below:
Task 1: Create a PROFILE Object for the Line-Handler Process
You can create a profile for a process using the profiles listed in Table 1-1 on page 1-2.
HP provides all these profiles in the $SYSTEM.SYSnn subvolume. You can create a
new profile based on an existing profile or you can create your own profile from
scratch. Profile disk files specify the characteristics for a group of communications
lines. For complete information about profiles, see the WAN Subsystem Configuration
and Management Manual.
