Optional Modifier Descriptions
To specify an extended address, enable the extended address format by specifying the
ADDRESSSIZE modifier. Note the following restrictions:
Extended address fields are not supported by SDLC.
You can use the ADDRESS modifier for a point-to-point ADCCP-NRME
configuration to specify an extended address of up to 4 octets.
You cannot use the ADDRESS modifier to specify extended addresses for an
HDLCADCCP-ABM configuration. Extended addresses for ABM can only be
specified through the application program.
You can set or override the ADDRESS modifier by issuing a SETMODE 17 call in an
application or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF
subsystem.
ADDRESSSIZE
Specifies the maximum number of octets found in the address field of a frame. The
default specifies the standard address field (1 octet) used in bit-synchronous frames.
You can specify an extended address field by increasing the number of octets
designated by this modifier.
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 116 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem (note
that the ADDRESSSIZE modifier is called ADDRSIZE in the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem
SCF product module).
ASCII
Specifies the transmission code as ASCII.
Default: 1 (for PEXFHDLC, PEXFAABM, and PEXFSDLC)
4 (for PEXFANRM)
Units: Octets (bytes)
Range: 1 through 4
