Optional Modifier Descriptions
CONTCF/NOCONTCF
Specifies that the controlled carrier for the modem is monitored. If CONTCF is
specified, EnvoyACP/XF does not transmit when input carrier (CD) is detected;
instead, it accepts the incoming call first.
If you have a half-duplex modem and the line is configured as HALF, EnvoyACP/XF
automatically monitors carrier detect (even if CONTCF is not specified). However, you
may want to specify CONTCF under other circumstances. For example, if you are
using a full-duplex modem for a tributary station, you can specify CONTCF so that the
tributary would know when the line was available for use.
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 16 call in an application.
DEFINEDM/NODEFINEDM
The DEFINEDM modifier specifies that the initial state of stations after OPEN or after a
DEFINELIST is disconnected. Secondary stations usually accept a mode-setting frame
and enter the Information Transfer State (ITS) after OPEN or DEFINELIST. When
DEFINEDM is specified, a DM is sent and the LDS state continues.
NODEFINEDM specifies that secondary stations accept a mode-setting frame and
enter the Information Transfer State (ITS) after OPEN or DEFINELIST.
DSRTIMER
Specifies the period of time, after opening the line, that EnvoyACP/XF waits for:
•
data set ready (DSR) for leased lines
•
modem control connect function for switched lines
