Optional Modifier Descriptions
FULL/HALF
The FULL modifier specifies full-duplex operation on the physical level. To use this
modifier, you must have a full-duplex modem. Specifying the FULL modifier enables
the line to carry communications in opposite directions at the same time. You must
specify the FULL modifier for two-way simultaneous operation (TWS).
The HALF modifier specifies half-duplex operation. If the EnvoyACP/XF line is
configured as HALF, the line operates only as half-duplex even for a full-duplex
modem.
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 19 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem (note
that the FULL/HALF modifiers are called DUPLEX in the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem
SCF product module).
HALF
See FULL/HALF.
IBMEXTENDED/NOIBMEXTENDED
The IBMEXTENDED modifier provides EnvoyACP/XF support for the SDLC
implementation of extended control frames. This modifier does not take effect unless
you also specify the EXTENDEDCONTROL modifier and the line is NRM.
The basic ADCCP specification of extended control fields indicates that all control
fields are 2-bytes in length (that is, for both numbered frames and unnumbered
frames). However, in the IBM implementation of extended control, only numbered
frames contain a 2-byte control field; unnumbered frames contain the standard 1-byte
control field.
