Optional Modifier Descriptions
The IDLETIMER modifier works with ABM configurations only if you also enable one of
the following pairs of modifiers:
•
L2HEARTBEAT and IDLECMDRR
•
L2HEARTBEAT and IDLERESPRR
In NRM configurations, IDLETIMER times the interval between polling cycles for a
supervisor station (Figure 3-3).

IDLETIMER specifies how long the primary or secondary substation lets the line
remain idle before sending an RR frame. L2HEARTBEAT and either
IDLECMDRR or IDLERESPRR also must be enabled.
