Optional Modifier Descriptions
L2HEARTBEAT/NOL2HEARTBEAT
Specifies a heartbeat RR frame at IDLETIMER intervals when an ABM mode line is
idle (see Figure 3-4). This modifier affects the use of IDLECMDRR and IDLERESPRR
(both these modifiers affect the transmission of RR frames).
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 19 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem.
Default: NOL2HEARTBEAT.

To configure ABM lines to issue RR frames when the line is idle, use the following modifiers:
Specifies that RR frames are
transmitted on idle lines.
Specifies how often RR frames
are transmitted.
Enables the transmission of
RR frames using a secondary
address, with the P/F bit set to
0.
Notifies the primary station that the
secondary station is ready to
receive transmissions.
