Optional Modifier Descriptions
RECVRNRRETRY/NORECVRNRRETRY
Applies only to a station receiving RNRs (remote RNR state). The default is
RECVRNRRETRY.
When NORECVRNRRETRY is set and RNR is received from a remote station, the
following actions occur:
1. If the local station is a primary station, it sends a DISC. If the local station is a
secondary station, it sends an FRMR.
2. All pending application WRITE requests for the station are completed with
Guardian file-system error 163 (RNR received).
3. Any further WRITE requests for the transmission of numbered frames for the
station are completed with Guardian file-system error 164 (Disconnected).
4. The local station enters LDS.
When RECVRNRRETRY is set and the local station receives RNR from a remote
station, the local station examines the value of RNRTIMER to determine what action to
take.
If the RNRTIMER has a value of zero, EnvoyACP/XF allows the receive RNR state to
persist indefinitely. Otherwise, EnvoyACP/XF tries to resend I-frames up to the number
of times indicated by L2RETRY as long as the RNRTIMER does not expire.
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 16 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem.
REJ/NOREJ
Specifies that REJ frames are sent and accepted as input. REJ frames are used to:
•
indicate that the station has received a frame out of sequence
•
request the retransmission of frames starting with the specified Nr
