Optional Modifier Descriptions
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 16 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem.
SWITCHED/NOSWITCH
SWITCHED specifies switched-line modem operation. With this setting, the modem
DTR signal is not raised automatically when the user application opens the line; the
user application must call the CONTROL 17 (connect) procedure to raise DTR. The
CONTROL request does not complete until the modem raises DSR to signal an
incoming call.
NOSWITCH specifies leased-line modem operation. With this setting, the modem DTR
signal is raised automatically when the user application opens the line.
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 16 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem.
SWOUTCARRIER/NOSWOUTCARRIER
SWOUTCARRIER causes EnvoyACP/XF to monitor the line for the carrier-detect (CD)
signal. The absence of CD indicates that the line is available for use and that the
monitoring station is free to transmit. Upon detecting the absence of CD,
EnvoyACP/XF raises the ready to send (RTS) signal.
Use SWOUTCARRIER for the following configurations:
•
Tributary station in a multidrop configuration
•
Half-duplex ABM configuration
Do not use SWOUTCARRIER for the following configurations:
•
Primary NRM station
•
With the FLAGFILL modifier
•
With full-duplex, point-to-point configurations
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 18 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem.
NOSWOUTCARRIER disables SWOUTCARRIER.
