Optional Modifier Descriptions
TRNSOFFSET
When used with the XLATE attribute (described in XLATE on page 5-17),
TRNSOFFSET specifies the offset into the information field at which the translation
begins. Translation continues for the number of octets specified by the TRNSLENGTH
modifier, or to the end of the information field if TRNSLENGTH is 0.
You can set or override this modifier by issuing a SETMODE 19 call in an application
or by issuing an SCF ALTER LINE command to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem (note
that the TRNSOFFSET modifier is called XLATEOFFSET in the EnvoyACP/XF
subsystem SCF product module).
TWA
See TWS/TWA.
TWS/TWA
Specifies whether the line is logically enabled to send and receive communications
simultaneously. This modifier setting is meaningful only if the line can carry two-way
simultaneous transmission:
•
the line must use a full-duplex modem
•
the FULL modifier must be specified
This modifier is relevant only to NRM configurations, because all ABM configurations
are implicitly TWS.
TWS, two-way simultaneous frame transmission, allows the supervisor to send frames
to other tributaries at the same time that the supervisor is receiving frames from the
specific tributary that has ownership of the P/F bit.
TWA, two-way alternate frame transmission, does not allow the supervisor to send any
additional frames after it has passed the P/F bit to a tributary station.
