Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)
for EnvoyACP/XF
EnvoyACP/XF works with a user application to create a complete access method
enabling HP systems to access I/O devices (such as ATMs). Each device is a station
within a data communications network.
This manual describes the SCF interface to the EnvoyACP/XF subsystem; it does not
describe the SCF interface to the WAN subsystem. For information about the SCF
interface to the WAN subsystem, see the WAN Subsystem Configuration and
Management Manual.
SCF provides an interactive interface to the Subsystem Control Process (SCP). (The
default SCP process is named $ZNET.) SCP, in turn, interfaces to the EnvoyACP/XF
subsystem's operations and services. Figure 4-1 shows this structure.
The EnvoyACP/XF subsystem has two objects: the LINE object, which represents the
communications line, and the PROCESS object, which represents the line-handler
