An application process, acting as the supervisor station in a TINET centralized
multipoint network, interfaces with Envoy and the terminals by way of Guardian 90 file-
system procedure calls.
Before it can transmit or receive any data, the application process must first open a
communications line for exclusive read-write access. Only the application process (and
its backup) can open the line. An application process acting as the supervisor station
must provide an address list to Envoy. The address list contains the poll address of any
stations to be polled, followed by the select addresses of those stations. You pass the
address list to Envoy by issuing a call to the DEFINELIST procedure. (See Address-List
