Polling Interval
Polling Interval 
The polling interval specifies a time interval that Envoy waits, following a pass through 
the poll list, before beginning a subsequent pass through the poll list. Figure 8-5 shows 
the use of the polling interval.
The polling interval is specified for a communications line when issuing the ADD 
DEVICE command. You can alter the polling interval by calling the SETMODE 
procedure.
The time interval between the polling of terminals during a pass through the poll list is 
determined by the length of time individual terminals take to respond to the poll.
