START DEVICE Command
START DEVICE Command
To start a line-handler process, use the WAN subsystem SCF START DEVICE
command. This command creates the specified Envoy line-handler process and allocates
a logical device (LDEV) number.
The command syntax is as follows:
$ZZWAN device_name
is the device name of the Envoy line-handler process.
Considerations
•
Envoy does not support the SEL or SUB options.
•
A non-error completion of the START command indicates only that the subsystem
was able to initiate processing for the START operation. It does not necessarily
indicate that the operation completed successfully.
•
A warning is issued if the LINE is already in the STARTED state.
Examples
The following command starts the device named $ENV01.
-> START DEVICE $ZZWAN.#ENV01
START DEVICE $ZZWAN.#device_name
