Probable Cause
An EIO error was detected. File-system error numbers must be in the range 214 through
225. The following errors are possible:
FECHTIMEOUT = 214
Channel timeout.
FEHANDSHAKE = 221
Controller handshake violation (path error)
FEBADEIOSTAT = 222
Bad channel status from EIO instruction.
FECTLERR = 224
Controller error.
System Action
After the error occurs, a CPU switch occurs. The primary I/O PROCESS gives
ownership of the device to the backup process.
Recommended Actions
1. Collect the EMS messages from the EMS log.
2. Look for any particular errors, such as BADEIOSTATUS.
3. Call your Compaq representative.
Considerations
This event is equivalent to the EMS-defined common event ZEMS-EVT-IOBUSMESS.
This event is also sent to the TSM subsystem.
