Task 2: Create the Line-Handler Process
LINE linenum
is the line number (0 or 1) on the selected CLIP specified by clipnum.
linenum must not have been previously selected for use by another line-handler
process.
PATH { A | B }
is the Ethernet path (A or B) on the CLIP, specified by clipnum. This path must
have been previously defined through the WAN subsystem SCF ADD PATH
command. For information about defining Ethernet paths, refer to the WAN
Subsystem Configuration and Management Manual.
modifier_keyword
is the name of an optional modifier in profile_name.modifier_keyword is
added to the device record for this Envoy line-handler process.
Modifier names for the Envoy are listed in Section 3, WAN Subsystem Profiles and
Modifiers for Envoy.
modifier_value
is the value you want to assign to the optional modifier specified by
modifier_keyword. modifier_value assigns a value to
modifier_keyword in the device record for this Envoy line-handler process.
Default values and ranges of values for Envoy modifiers are described in Section 3,
WAN Subsystem Profiles and Modifiers for Envoy.
Considerations
Not all modifiers have associated values.
The modifier_keyword and modifier_value parameters do not add the
specified modifier, or a modifier and its associated value, to the profile used by the
device. Use the ADD PROFILE command to add a modifier, or a modifier and its
associated value, to a profile.
Example 1-2
issues the SCF ADD DEVICE command to the WAN subsystem to add a
line-handler process, using the PROFILE object from Example 1-4.
