Modifier Descriptions
Alternate modifier: ODD, NONE
This modifier applies to ADM, TINET, SIMPLEX, and ASC lines only. It specifies even
parity.
FULL
Default: HALF for BSC lines; FULL for ADM, TINET, SIMPLEX, and ASC lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: HALF
This modifier applies to all Envoy line types. It specifies a full-duplex line.
When used for BSC lines, the FULL modifier does not affect the line. To specify full-
duplex for BSC lines, use CBSENSEON, CFSENSEON, NOCLEARCA, and
NOCTLRCF.
This modifier can be altered with a call to SETMODE 16.
HALF
Default: HALF for BSC lines; FULL for ADM, TINET, SIMPLEX, and ASC lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: FULL
This modifier applies to all Envoy line types. It specifies a half-duplex line.
When used for BSC lines, the HALF modifier does not affect the line. To specify half-
duplex for BSC lines, use CBSENSEON, CFSENSEOFF, CLEARCA, and CTLRCF.
This modifier can be altered with a call to SETMODE 16.
IDEXCHG
Default: Not specified
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It causes the Envoy subsystem to perform ID
exchange on connection.
Once this modifier is added to the device record, it can only be removed by using the
SCF ALTER DEVICE command with the RESET modifier option.
