Modifier Descriptions
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It specifies that the 8-bit LRC block-check
character is used.
MONITORCD
Default: ON
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It enables monitoring of the carrier signal (CF)
during transmission. If a signal loss is detected, a modem error is reported.
The MONITORCD modifier should be used only for full-duplex lines. If it is used for
half-duplex lines, the carrier must be dropped when there is a line turnaround. Dropping
the carrier signal indicates that one side is through transmitting and the other side can
begin. In half-duplex configuration, the use of this modifier would cause modem errors
for half-duplex, even if the line were functioning correctly.
MONITORCTS
Default: ON
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It enables monitoring of the clear-to-send (CB)
signal during data transmission. If a signal loss is detected, a modem error is reported.
MPSUPV
Default: MPSUPV for BSC, ADM, and TINET lines; PPNSW for SIMPLEX and ASC
lines; and MPTRIB for BSC multipoint tributary lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifiers: PPNSW, PPSW, MPTRIB
This modifier applies to all Envoy line types. It is required for a multipoint supervisor
line.
The SWITCH modifier is removed when you specify the MPSUPV modifier.
Note. This modifier is similar to the CBSENSEON/CBSENSEOFF device modifiers.
