Modifier Descriptions
NOSETMODEDTRCTRL
Default: SETMODEDTRCTRL
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: SETMODEDTRCTRL
This modifier applies to BSC, SIMPLEX, and ASC lines only. It specifies that
SETMODE 16 will not affect the state of the DTR lead.
NUMBLOCKS
Default: 2
Units: Not applicable
Range: 2 through 15
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It defines the input line of the full-duplex
protocol (device types (7,31),(7,33)). For full-duplex input lines, the modifier
SEGMENTS n defines the number of segments or blocks the buffer is divided into for
the read continuous operation. It is recommended that SEGMENTS be used instead of
SELADDR for the full-duplex protocol. However, SEGMENTS and SELADDR have
the same meanings. Full-duplex read lines require a defined dedicated buffer.
ODD
Default: EVEN for ADM and TINET lines; NONE for SIMPLEX and ASC lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: EVEN, NONE
This modifier applies to ADM, TINET, SIMPLEX, and ASC lines only. It specifies odd
parity. You must also specify the CHECK modifier for ODD to work.
ONEUNIT
Default: TWOUNIT for BSC lines; ONEUNIT for ADM, TINET, SIMPLEX, and ASC
lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Note. This modifier is similar to the SEGMENTS device modifier; however, NUMBLOCKS
applies only to (7,31) and (7,33) read lines, whereas SEGMENTS applies to all the four full-
duplex lines.
