Modifier Descriptions
Once this modifier is added to the device record, it can only be removed by using the
SCF ALTER DEVICE command with the RESET modifier option.
POLLSELSEQ
Default: EOT
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It specifies that both a poll and a select are
preceded with EOT.
POOLED
Default: DEDICATED for SIMPLEX lines; POOLED for TINET, ADM, BSC, and
ASC lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: DEDICATED
This modifier applies to all Envoy line types. It causes the line to obtain buffer space
from the input/output (I/O) segment to be used for the I/O buffers for each file-system
request it receives that requires an I/O buffer. The I/O segment is deallocated upon
completion of the request.
PPNSW
Default: PPNSW for SIMPLEX and ASC lines; MPSUPV for BSC, ADM, and TINET
lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifiers: PPSW, MPSUPV
This modifier applies to all Envoy line types. It specifies a point-to-point, unswitched
line.
The SWITCH modifier is removed when you specify the PPSW modifier.
Note. This modifier is similar to the LEADEOT/NOLEADEOT device modifiers.
