Modifier Descriptions
Read-only lines can also be specified by calling the SETMODE 16 procedure:
SETMODE 16 parm1.13 0 = normal, 1 = READCONT
The following read termination modifiers are ignored for read-only lines: TCHAR1
through TCHAR4, CLTERM1, and CLTERM2.
Read-only lines require a dedicated buffer to be defined. See the description of the
DEDICATED modifier for more information.
Once this modifier is added to the device record, it can only be removed by using the
SCF ALTER DEVICE command with the RESET modifier option.
RETRIES n
Default: 3
Units: Number of retries
Range: 0 through 255
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to BSC, ADM, and TINET lines only. It specifies the number of
retries per request for all lines.

Default: RS232
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: RS422
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It specifies the RS232 electrical interface type.
