Modifier Descriptions
RSIZE
Default: None
Units: BYTES
Range: 512 through 4096
Alternate modifier: None
RSIZE (or RECSIZE) specifies the maximum amount of information transferred
between the Envoy line-handler process and the DLC (running in the SWAN
concentrator) in one operation.
SECONDARY
Default: PRIMARY for BSC lines; SECONDARY for ADM, TINET, and ASC lines
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: PRIMARY
This modifier applies to BSC, ADM, TINET, and ASC lines only. It specifies that the
point-to-point line is a secondary station.
SEGMENTS n
Default: 0
Units: Number of segments
Range: 2 through 15
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It defines the input line of the full-duplex
protocol (device types (7,30), (7,31), (7,32), and (7,33)). For full-duplex input lines, the
modifier SEGMENTS n defines the number of segments or blocks the buffer is divided
into for the read-continuous operation. It is recommended that SEGMENTS be used
instead of SELADDR for the full-duplex protocol. However, SEGMENTS and
SELADDR have the same meanings.
Full-duplex read lines require a defined dedicated buffer and interrupt handler.
SELADDR n
Default: 0
Units: Not applicable
Range: 0 through 255
Alternate modifier: None
