Modifier Descriptions
This modifier applies to BSC lines only. It specifies the first character of a station's
select address. The address is defined by specifying the ASCII character or the octal
equivalent of the ASCII character. This modifier is used only for tributary stations and is
required for line operation.
SETMODEDTRCTRL
Default: SETMODEDTRCTRL
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: NOSETMODEDTRCTRL
This modifier applies to BSC, SIMPLEX, and ASC lines only. It specifies that
SETMODE 16 will affect the state of the DTR lead. SETMODETRCTRL should be
used with point-to-point, switched lines. (See the description of the PPSW modifier for
more information.)
SPEED n
Default: 24 for BSC, SIMPLEX, and ASC lines; 12 for ADM and TINET lines
Units: Baud rate divided by 100
Range: 0 through 192 for byte-synchronous lines
Alternate modifier: None
This modifier applies to all Envoy line types. It specifies the baud rate divided by 100.
For BSC lines, this modifier is used internally to determine timeout values. The baud
rate for BSC lines is determined by an external modem. BSC lines typically rely on
external modems to supply clocks used for the baud rate. This modifier can be altered
with a call to SETMODE 15.
STOPBITOFF
Default: STOPBITOFF
Units: Not applicable
Range: Not applicable
Alternate modifier: STOPBITON
This modifier applies to TINET, SIMPLEX, ADM, and ASC lines only. It specifies that
an extra stop bit is not generated. Each character has one stop bit.
