Installation Script
To help clarify the EMS Analyzer installation process, the sample EMS Analyzer
installation is divided into steps. Each step has a brief explanation. Sample screens
follow the command entries. The installation steps are grouped as follows:
Installation Script
The following is an example of EMS Analyzer initial installation script. The question
mark (?) indicates a prompt. All user-supplied entries are shown in bold type. Before
you run the TACL installation routine, make sure you are at the EMS Analyzer
installation subvolume:
1> volume $system.zemsa
Enter this command to run the installation routine:
2> run instemsa emsadef
EMSADEF specifies the name of the define file that contains the installation parameter
values. If this file does not exist, a define file is created in the specified location (volume
and subvolume) and filled with default parameter values.
If the define file name is omitted from the RUN command, a define file named
EMSADEF is created in the current subvolume and filled with default parameter values.
Step Description
Steps 1, 2 and 3 EMSADEF file creation and parameter validation
Step 4 EMS Analyzer ISV validation
Step 5 Installing the new EMS Analyzer program and data files
Step 6 Creating the default EMSACSTM file in the user subvolume
Step 7 Creating the default EMSA DDL dictionary
Note. The EMS Analyzer installation stops if an error occurs. The EMS Analyzer INSTEMSA
routine displays an error message advising you of the probable cause and the recommended
action. When this happens, correct the error and run the routine again.
