Stopping a Distributor
For more information on the ASSUME, SETPROMPT, and START commands, see
Section 5, Command Descriptions.
Guidelines
The default EMSACSTM file includes a START command to start a distributor. If
the EMSACSTM file is located in your default subvolume, a distributor will be
started automatically for you. For a sample of the default EMSACSTM file, refer to
Appendix C, EMSACSTM File
.
You can use the EMS Analyzer commands INFO, STATUS, STOP, VERSION on
other EMS distributors (including consumer, printing, and forwarding distributors).
But you cannot use the EMS Analyzer commands ALTER, DUMPLOG, and
START with any EMS distributors except with EMS Analyzer’s own distributor.
Example
Stopping a Distributor
The following command stops a specific distributor:
-> stop distributor $Y194
You can use the STOP command to stop any EMS distributors as long as no security
violation exists.
Example
Modifying the EMS Analyzer Distributor Priority
When you start the EMS Analyzer distributor with the START command, you can
specify a priority. However, the priority can be modified while the distributor is running.
To modify the priority of the EMS Analyzer’s own distributor, press the BREAK key
from within EMS Analyzer. Pressing the BREAK key from within EMS Analyzer
temporarily exits EMS Analyzer and brings you back to your TACL prompt.
Use the TACL ALTPRI command to modify the priority of the distributor:
1> altpri $y202, 80
Use the TACL PAUSE command to return to EMS Analyzer:
2> pause
-> start , pri 120, cpu 2
