Setting the Input Source
Setting the Input Source
To set the input source for the events, use the ALTER command with the EMSLOG
attribute, for example:
-> alter, emslog $data.appl.emslog
This command sets the input source to the file $data.appl.emslog.
The default value for the EMSLOG attribute is $0 (local collector).
Viewing Filter Parameter Values
To view the current values of the EMS Analyzer filter parameters, use the INFO
command:
-> info
This command displays the filter parameter values and other information about the
specified distributor. In the example, since no distributor name is specified, information
about the assumed distributor is given.
The filter parameter values are displayed only when the specified distributor is the
current EMS Analyzer distributor and when the filter attribute is set to the EMS
Analyzer default filter EMSAFLTR.

SYSTEM This specifies the name of a system (node) from which events were
generated.
LDEV This identifies a particular device name or number.
TEXT This specifies a particular text string to be searched.
