Altering the DUMPLOG STATUS Attribute
Altering the DUMPLOG STATUS Attribute
The DUMPLOG STATUS attribute specifies the maximum time period in which you
will receive feedback from EMS Analyzer when it is searching for events. The feedback
is either an event message found or a status line indicating the current position, how
many events passed the filter and how many events were read.
In this example, a DUMPLOG
command is invoked. In the second line of the display,
EMS Analyzer shows the current position of the distributor, the number of events that
passed the filter (0) and the total number of events read (297). The next lines show that
EMS Analyzer found an event that meets the search criteria.
The default DUMPLOG STATUS attribute is 5 seconds.
You can set the DUMPLOG STATUS attribute to a longer time period or to OFF. This
command changes the DUMPLOG STATUS attribute to 10 minutes (600 seconds):
-> alter, status 600
This command turns off the DUMPLOG STATUS attribute; EMS Analyzer sends you
no feedback until it finds an event, or until the search is complete:
-> alter, status off
Removing the More Text Question
EMS Analyzer automatically freezes the screen when a full screen of information is
displayed. It prompts you with the More Text? (Y/N) question before proceeding. To set
the EMS Analyzer environment so that the screen display continues even if the bottom
of the screen is reached, type the following at the prompt:
-> pagesize -1 terminal
-> env
The pagesize value determines when the More text? (Y/N) question is asked. Moving
the value -1 means the question is not to be asked.
For more information on the PAGESIZE
command, see Section 5, Command
Descriptions.
You can use ENV
command to verify the global environment values.
