This parameter cannot be used to change the name of the program file. The
line server is always started from a program file called RJESV.
If you omit \
system
, the default system is the system on which the
Exchange/RJE command interpreter resides. If you omit $
volume
, the default
volume is the volume on which the command interpreter resides. If you omit
subvolume
, the default subvolume is the subvolume on which the command
interpreter resides.
If you omit this parameter, the next CONNECT command starts the line server
from the program file RJESV on the system, volume, and subvolume on which
the Exchange/RJE command interpreter resides, unless you have specified the
name of an existing line server in the SERVER parameter. If you want the next
CONNECT command to connect to an existing line server, the PROGRAM
parameter must be omitted.
If you specify \
system
in both the PROGRAM parameter and the SERVER
parameter, you must specify the same system in both parameters.
For complete information on how this parameter and the SERVER parameter
control the operation of the CONNECT command in starting a new line server
or connecting to an existing line server, see “Considerations” below.
RETRIESE[OT]
number
specifies the maximum number of times the remote station can send an EOT
with no preceding text before Exchange/RJE terminates the read operation.
The EOT can be sent either before or after the remote station has successfully
bid for the line. Valid values for this parameter are -1 and from 0 through
32767.
If you specify -1, an unlimited number of EOTs are allowed. If you specify a
value from 0 through 32767, the specified number of EOTs are allowed, after
which the read operation is terminated.
The RETRIESEOT value can be set in both the SET and RECEIVE commands;
if you specify it in both places, Exchange/RJE uses the value in the RECEIVE
command. If you omit this parameter in the RECEIVE command, but include
it in the SET command, Exchange/RJE uses the value in the SET command.
This parameter can be reset to the default value by using the RESET
command; it is automatically reset to the default value after a DISCONNECT
or EXIT command. The current value is displayed with the SET information in
response to a SHOW command.
If you omit this parameter in both the SET and RECEIVE commands, the
default value is -1.
RETRIESI[DLE]
number
specifies the maximum number of times Exchange/RJE retries the read
operation after receiving a timeout error on an idle line (where the remote
