If you specify TRACE OFF, the Exchange/RJE trace server need not be started
before the connection is established. This does not prevent you from using the
TRACE command; it merely makes it optional.
If you omit this parameter, the default value is TRACE OFF.
U[SERLIB]
filename
specifies the name of the user library file that contains the user-exit procedure,
USER^EXIT^MODEM^SUPPORT. The specified user library must reside on
the same system as the line server. This parameter can be specified only when
the command interpreter is not connected to a line server.
If a user library is specified and the line server does not exist, the line server is
started with the specified user library. If a user library is not specified and the
line server does not exist, the line server is started with the default user library
(RJELIB). In this case, RJELIB must reside on the same system, volume, and
subvolume as the Exchange/RJE line server.
If you are connecting to an existing line server, you must either use the
CONNECT ! command or specify the same user library as specified when the
liner server was started.
If you specify a user library for a new line server and the RJESV object file is
already in use, you must specify the same user library as the first opener of
RJESV; otherwise you get an error message. In order to use different versions
of USER^EXIT^MODEM^SUPPORT simultaneously, you must have multiple
copies of RJESV (in different subvolumes). See the RJESV command
description in Section 5 for more information.
If the line server already exists, and the command interpreter is to be
connected to this line server, then the following two cases are possible:
If the exclamation point (!) parameter is omitted in the CONNECT
command, the user library specification in the command interpreter must
match the user library used by the line server.
If the exclamation point (!) parameter is specified in the CONNECT
command, the SET USERLIB command has no effect. The line server runs
with a default user library or a non-default user library, whichever was
specified when the line server was started. After the connection is made,
the SHOW command displays the actual value of the USERLIB parameter.
Line Activity None.
Considerations The SET command specifies values for the configuration parameters that control the
Exchange/RJE line server. At a minimum, you must specify the data communications
line you want to use. Aside from the data communications line, all other configuration
parameters are optional. If a line server exists, whether or not the command
interpreter is connected to it, you can only change the TRACE, RETRIESIDLE, and
RETRIESEOT configuration parameters. All other configuration parameters are set
when a line server is started.
