Exchange/RJE Manual

Configuring Data Communications Lines
Installation and Configuration
104698 Tandem Computers Incorporated 6–5
BSCCONNECTTO
n
specifies the connect timeout. This is the amount of time, in 10-millisecond units,
that CP6100 waits for Data-Set-Ready (CC) to come on after Data-Terminal-Ready
(CD) is asserted. Unless the modem is always on, the value should be long
enough to allow an operator to establish the connection. On the other hand, when
a server has opened the line and is waiting for a remote to dial in, a value of 0
(wait forever) is recommended. The value must be in the range 0 through 32767;
the default value is 3000 (30 seconds).
BSCPPNSW or BSCPPSW
specify BSCPPNSW (point-to-point nonswitched line) for a leased line.
Specify BSCPPSW (point-to-point switched line) for a switched—dial in or out—
line.
BSCPTPT
specifies that the protocol is point-to-point bisynchronous. By default, the
protocol is HASP multileaving. You must specify BSCPTPT for Exchange/RJE.
Note that ID exchange is not supported by Exchange/RJE, so you should not specify
the BSCIDEXCHG modifier.
