FLAGS Field
Each trace record contains a one-word bit map called FLAGS. The meaning of each bit
is listed in Table 3-1.
Table 3-1. The Trace Record FLAGS Field
Bits Meaning
.<0> Is set to 1 if the block was received from the remote system. Otherwise, it is set to 0.
.<1> Is set to 1 if the block was sent to the remote system. Otherwise, it is set to 0.
.<2> Is set to 1 if the trace record is for a call to CONTROL for an Envoy line. In this case the
error number is the number of the control operation that is being invoked (see below).
Otherwise, it is set to 0.
.<3:9> Not used by Exchange/RJE.
.<10> Is set to 1 if Exchange/RJE is using CP6100. It is set to 0 if Exchange/RJE is using
Envoy.
.<11> Not used by Exchange/RJE.
.<12> Is set to 1 if one or more trace records were lost between the last recorded trace record
and this trace record. Otherwise, it is set to 0.
.<13:14> Not used by Exchange/RJE.
.<15> Is set to 1 if the block has been truncated. A trace block is truncated to 4096 bytes if the
total number of bytes of the transmission block plus the trace header fields for that block
exceed 4096.
CONTROL Operations. The following table lists the valid values for FLAGS.<2> and the
CONTROL operation each value indicates:
Value CONTROL Operation
11 Wait for data set ready (CC)
13 Send EOT (end of transmission)
14 Send WACK (wait for acknowledgement)
15 Enable RVI (reverse interrupt)
16 Send TTD (temporary text delay)
17 Enable connection (clear data terminal ready [CD])
18 Disable connection (clear data terminal ready [CD])
19 Send DLE EOT (disconnect sequence), then clear data
terminal ready (CD)
Operations 18 and 19 clear data terminal ready only if the DTROFF modifier was
specified at system generation.
