E[BCDICNL] { ON | OFF }
specifies whether the Exchange/RJE line server treats the EBCDIC NL
character as a record separator or as data. You may also use the RJECIR
command to specify this parameter.
If you specify EBCDICNL ON, the line server does not recognize the NL
character as a record separator; the NL character is passed on as ASCII data
(%H85). RECEIVE EBCDICNL OFF overrides this parameter for the duration
of a RECEIVE command.
If you specify EBCDICNL OFF, the line server recognizes the NL character as
a record separator.
RECEIVE EBCDICNL ON overrides this parameter for the duration of a
RECEIVE command.
This parameter must be set before the line server is started; it is the global
setting for the mode of operation of the line server for the line server.
However, the specified can be overridden for the duration of a RECEIVE
command.
If you omit this parameter, the default value is EBCDICNL OFF.
L[INE] [\system.]$
line
specifies the data communications line that you want to use and, optionally,
the system on which it resides. The data communications line must be
specified before the first CONNECT command. You can specify it either here
in the SET command or with the LINE parameter in the RJECIR command
when you start the Exchange/RJE command interpreter.
line
can be in one of two forms:
line
can be from one to seven alphanumeric characters, of which the
first must be a letter. If the system name is also specified,
line
must
be no longer than six characters.
line
can be from one to four digits with a maximum value of 4095.
In either form, $
line
must name an existing data communications line
that was defined during system generation.
You must also specify the system on which the data communications line
resides (\
system
) if one or both of the following is true:
The data communications line does not reside on the same system as the
line server.
The line server, the data communications line, and the ACU (if any) reside
on the local system, and you want them to be accessible from other
systems.
