displays information about all subdevices that are in service. A subdevice is
taken out of service by the DOWN command and placed back in service by the
UP command. A subdevice can be in service without being used in an active
send or receive operation.
The Exchange/SNA command interpreter must be connected to a line server
in order for this form of the SHOW command to work. If the command
interpreter is not connected to a line server, an error message is displayed.
Use the CONNECT command to connect the command interpreter to a line

OU[T]
output-file
specifies the name of the file to receive the output of the SHOW command. If you
omit this parameter, the output is written to the file specified in the OUT option of
the RJECIS command that started the Exchange/SNA command interpreter. If
you omitted the OUT option on the RJECIS command and you are running the
command interpreter interactively, the output is displayed on the home terminal.
If you specify a disk file (as opposed to a spooler location, for example), the file
must already exist. It must be an unstructured file. You can use the FUP CREATE
command to create the file. The SHOW command writes to the file in 80-byte
records.
If you omit the volume name, your current default volume is used. If you omit
both the volume and subvolume names, your current default volume and
subvolume are used.
Considerations The SHOW command displays information about the configuration parameters, the
line server, or individual subdevices. With the exception of the SHOW command with
no parameter, which shows the current settings of the configuration parameters, the
command interpreter must be connected to a line server for the displayed information
to be meaningful.
