Exchange/SNA Manual
6 Installation and Configuration
104700 Tandem Computers Incorporated 6–1
This section describes the files that make up the Exchange/SNA product and provides
information about the Tandem system generation definitions required for
Exchange/SNA. Additionally, this section provides an example of how to define
Exchange/SNA on an IBM host system using JES2 and VTAM.
Exchange/SNA Files Exchange/SNA consists of the following object files:
RJECIS The command interpreter
SNAXSRSV The send/receive server
SNAXSV The line server
SNAXTRSV The trace server
Typically, all four Exchange/SNA files are installed on $SYSTEM.SYSTEM. However,
you can install the files on any volume and subvolume.
The command interpreter (RJECIS), the send/receive server (SNAXSRSV), and the
trace server (SNAXTRSV) must reside on the same volume and subvolume. The line
server (SNAXSV) can reside on the same volume and subvolume as the other
Exchange/SNA files or on another volume and subvolume (or on another system). If
the line server is not on the same volume and subvolume as the other Exchange/SNA
files, you need to specify the location of the line server whenever you use
Exchange/SNA. See the SET command as described in Section 3 for information on
how to specify the location of the line server.
