Configuring
SNAX/CDF for
Exchange/SNA
This subsection outlines the system generation definition requirements and the SCF
commands to configure SNAX/CDF to be used by Exchange/SNA.
Before you can configure SNAX/CDF for Exchange/SNA, you need to configure the
EnvoyACP/XF SDLC line for SNAX/CDF and then use the RUN command to start
the SNAX/CDF process. For more information, see the SNAX/CDF Configuration and
Control Manual.
Note If you are using SNAX/XF rather than SNAX/CDF, do not follow the instructions in this section. Instead,
refer to the subsection “Configuring SNAX/XF for Exchange/SNA,” earlier in this section.
Configuration
Requirements
When you configure SNAX/CDF for Exchange/SNA, you need to specify the
following values in the ADD APPL command. (This list only includes those
parameters for which Exchange/SNA requires a specific value; it is not a complete list
of parameters.)
OPENNAME
must match the LU name specified in SET LINE.
CHARACTERSET ASCII
specifies that SNAX/CDF is not to translate the data sent and received on the line.
PROTOCOL SNALU
specifies that Exchange/SNA uses the SNALU interface.
DLU
name
specifies the name of the destination logical unit.
In addition, use the ADD ENTRY command to specify the name of your logon mode
table and to create an entry in this table for the Exchange/SNA BIND image required
for your installation. This BIND image must agree with the image specified on the
host system. For more information on the BIND image, see Appendix C. For more
information on the ADD APPL and ADD ENTRY commands, see the SNAX/CDF
Configuration and Control Manual.
