Using the Exchange/SNA Command Interpreter

Command Summary Table 2-1 lists the Exchange/SNA commands and briefly describes each one.
Table 2-1. Exchange/SNA Command Summary
Command Function
ABORT Stops one or more send or receive operations initiated by the current
Exchange/SNA command interpreter.
COMMENT identifies a comment line in a file of Exchange/SNA commands.
CONNECT Establishes a connection between the Exchange/SNA command interpreter, the
Exchange/SNA line server, and the host.
DISCONNECT Ends the connection between the Exchange/SNA command interpreter and the
line server.
DOWN Takes the specified subdevices out of service.
DUMP Formats and lists the contents of a trace file.
EXIT Stops the Exchange/SNA command interpreter and returns control to the
command interpreter.
FC Lets you edit the last command and executes the edited command.
HELP Displays a list of the Exchange/SNA commands or the syntax of individual
commands.
LOG Specifies the information to be logged and the file to receive the information.
OBEY Executes a series of Exchange/SNA commands read from a file.
RECEIVE Receives records from the host and appends them to the specified file.
RESET Sets one or more configuration parameters to their default values.
SEND Sends a file to the host.
SET Specifies values for the configuration parameters.
SHOW Displays information about the configuration parameters, the line server, or
individual subdevices.
STATS Displays statistics about the data communications line, active send operations, or
active receive operations.
STOP Stops the Exchange/SNA line server.
TRACE Starts and stops the Exchange/SNA trace server, which logs the activity on the
data communications line.
UP Places the specified subdevices back in service.
