LOG Command The LOG command specifies the information to be logged and the file to receive the
information.

is one of the following terms:
TO
log-file
specifies the file to receive the information that is logged.
If you specify a log file, the old file is closed,
log-file
is opened, and all
information to be logged is written to
log-file
. If
log-file
is a disk file
and it already exists, the new information is appended to the existing file. The
information that is logged is written to
log-file
in 80-byte records.
You can specify the home terminal as the log file. In this case, the logged data
is displayed on the home terminal.
If you omit this parameter (and are not using the STOP parameter), the
information that is logged is written to the log file that was last specified. If a
log file has not been specified before, the information is written to the operator
console, $0.
LOG[DATA]
type
specifies the information to be logged.
type
is one of the following terms:
DI[AG]
specifies that Exchange/SNA line server messages are to be logged. The
Exchange/SNA line server messages are always included in the
information to be logged, regardless of the type you specify.
OP[ER]
specifies that the Exchange/SNA commands that affect the line server are
to be logged. These commands are the following:
ABORT
DOWN
LOG
RECEIVE
SEND
STOP
TRACE
UP
