send-file
is the name of the file to be sent to the host. The file you specify must exist. It can
be a disk file, a magnetic tape file, a device file (such as a terminal), or another
process; in short, the send file can be any type of file supported by the operating
system.
If you omit the volume name, your current default volume is used. If you omit
both the volume and subvolume names, your current default volume and
subvolume are used.
If you do not specify
send-file
, the send file last associated with the specified
subdevice in a SEND command is sent. If you have not associated a send file with
the specified subdevice in a previous SEND command, an error message is
displayed and the send operation is not started.
subdevice
specifies the particular card-reader subdevice to use or that the first available card-
reader subdevice is to be used.
subdevice
consists of the name of the class of card-reader subdevices and,
optionally, the unit number of an individual card-reader subdevice. The unit
number must immediately follow the subdevice class name with no intervening
blanks.
The subdevice class name must be one to six alphanumeric characters, of which
the first must be a letter. It must be the name of the card-reader subdevice class
that was defined when the line server was started.
The unit number must be a number between one and the maximum number of
card-reader subdevices that are supported by the line server. If you specify the
unit number, the send operation uses that particular subdevice. If you omit the
unit number, the first available card reader is used.
If you omit this parameter, the first available card-reader subdevice is used.
